Onkyo HT-S9100THX 7.1 Channel Receiver and Speaker Package Review

This is an AWESOME product. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now, and in my opinion it's one of the best HTs I've ever heard. It's much betten than the overrated BOSE systems, and 7.1 THX beats any movie theater.

The con is that speakers are freakishly bulky (specially if you compare to a Bose). You might have some hard time finding a stand that will remain standing with one of those, so it's a good bet to go with the ones from Onkyo itself.

Universal remote works pretty well, although it could be better looking (go with the Philips Prestigo series for a nicer look and good funcionality).

All and all, if you want a top-notch HT in a box system, you cannot go wrong with this. Plenty of digital inputs (both HDMI and Optical, unlike the previous 990 version).

Nikon M-223 2.5-10x40 Laser IRT Black Matte Riflescope (BDC 600) Review

This scope is just awesome, plus it comes with the rail mount with it. Please note: do not buy the M-223 scope mount with it, it will not work for this scope. Don't be a sucker and buy both at the same time unless you have another M-223 scope other than this model.
With this model, it has a built in range finder that keeps displaying ranges as you move the crosshairs near or far for 10-12 sec. the turrets are like the rest of the M-223 line in that you can do quick zero reset of the turrets by just pulling up on the caps and rotating to zero then pushing them back down, simple. I want another one for my other ar-15. just an awesome scope.

Garmin GPSMAP 441s 4-Inch Waterproof Marine GPS and Chartplotter (Without Transducer) Review

If you are looking for a compact, user friendly GPS Chartplotter/Sounder; buy this one. Garmin is the best, most fairly priced plotter/sounders available. My only regret was not buying the 541s. That 1 inch make a difference. I've been on the water ny whole life and for the money the 441s and 541s are the best plotters available. Amazon has the best prices on them too. WOuld have recieved 5 stars but add and tech infor doesn't state how long the transducer wire is. I took a chance and it fit with some room to spare. Transducer wire is 25-30 ft long. I also recommend buying the transducer with speed and water temp.

Sony VAIO VPCEG33FX/B 14-Inch Laptop (Black) Review

I needed a new laptop after the hard drive on my 3 year old Dell laptop crashed a few months ago. Because I am a college student, I wanted a smaller computer to carry around campus or use comfortably outside of my room. The 14'' screen is a widescreen and is excellent for viewing pictures, videos, and movies. My old computer had a 15.5'' screen. I prefer a larger screen, but the bigger the screen, oftentimes, the heavier the laptop. This computer weighs about 5 lbs with the battery (without it, it is obviously much lighter), but it feels like it weighs much less. The keyboard is also a good size and the keys are not raised, so food, dust, and hair are less likely to get caught in the keyboard. I own this computer in black and the photos are true to real life. Orginally, I wanted this laptop in white, but decided against that because it would get dirty very quickly. The computer uses Windows 7. My old one had Vista, so I'm still getting used to Windows 7's new features. I've had this for almost a week and it is very easy to use.

The lid is not fingerprint proof. Even in black, fingerprints are still visble. Not a big deal to me.

Toshiba 46SL412U 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED-LCD HDTV, Black Review

Overall, I think this is an excellent TV, but it has issues which may or may not be a problem for you.

1) The picture is excellent - very clear picture, accurate color. I have two other smaller HD TVs that are 720p, and you can see the difference compared to them.

2) The stand doesn't move. The TV sits vertically, and you can't lean it or swivel left to right. This isn't a problem for me, but I mention it in case it might bother some people.

3) The TV comes with instructions regarding set-up, but doesn't really come with an owners manual. I think this is a point against Toshiba, but it's not that big an issue, since you can download the PDF from Toshiba's web site for free. You'll need the manual if you want to know what the various picture size settings are, like "native" or "full" or "TheaterWide 1", etc.

4) The sound is not good, it's rather tinny. My smaller TVs have much better sound. I think they should have done better here, but if you're buying a 46" TV, you're probably hooking it up to some kind of stereo/sound system. My stereo has good sound, so I'm not too concerned with the TV's own sound. If you're not planning to connect this to some kind of sound system, you'll be disappointed with the sound.

5) The connections in the back for audio-out include an optical/digital output (little square plug), and an analog output(RCA plugs). Believe it or not, having analog sound output was a major selling point for me. When I say I have a stereo, I mean just that. I don't have a more modern Dolby 5.1 system. I may get one eventually, but for now I want to hook the TV up to an old-fashioned stereo, which does not have optical connections. That means I need a TV with RCA plug connectors for sound output. Other TVs, like a SONY model that I looked at, only have the optical/digital output, so I can't hook them up. Look out for this if you have an old stereo.

6) It's an LED, so it's very thin, like less than 2 inches thick. It's no big deal for one person to lift it.

7) The price here at Amazon is $100 less than most other places are selling it for.

I'm very happy with the TV. The only thing that may have disappointed me is the sound, but my stereo takes care of that.

Have wanted this Bose radio/CD player for a long time and am glad I purchased. However, the CD's do not shuffle. Yes, each one can play randomly, but the player does not shuffle between CD's.
