I try to buy as many US-made products as possible, but with most of the national brands manufacturing their scopes overseas anyway (just check where some of the "L" scopes are made!), it is hard to beat the cost/quality of Nikon scopes. Try them. You have to spend twice as much to get this clarity and lack of distortion from other brands. Even the legendary ones.
This is NOT made in Japan like the top of the line Nikon scopes (Monarch X). The unit I received of this model is made in the Philipines and competes very well indeed with optics made in China.
