10W7AE-3 - JL Audio 10" Single 3-Ohm W7 Series Subwoofer Anniversary Edition Review

I have had two 15's in a seventh order isobaric box in my younger days but these speaker hit really hard. They are monsters in every sense of the word. I wanted a hard hitting bass in my ZL1 Camaro and these do not disappoint. I mounted these in a box from Subthump with a slightly smaller area than required (1.1 instead of 1.25 for a sealed enclosure). I talked to a tech guy at JL Audio and he said I wouldn't really notice that little difference in area and I could add some fiber fill if I wanted. If you do decide to put these in a purchased enclosure you should know that they require a smaller cutout than a standard 10 and the box should be reinforced to handle them (I found this out the hard way). I also purchased a JL Audio 1000 watt Slasher Amp because you don't want to under power these speakers. All I can say is that I can't keep the rear view mirror in one place. The minute I move it so I can see out the back window a second later it is down again. It shakes so hard that you really can't see anything in the mirror anyway. The only drawback I can think of is the cost to ship these because the box's weighs 30lbs each. The price may be a little high for some but it is worth every penny. All I can say is WOW!!!
