Fantom, in my opinion, is an overlooked gem in the world of desktop storage. I've burned through countless Western Digital, Iomega, and Maxtor (pre- and post-Seagate) drives before finally learning my lesson: none of them are any better than any of the others, and they are all just this side of shoddy.
