After reading several reviews on this system and several other brands, none of them were rated very good in all areas.

I decided to go with this system for several reasons,

1st. the cost
2nd. I needed a min. of 4 color out door cameras
3rd. I wanted to be able to expand to more cameras if I wanted to and I
didnt want all the same cameras.Some I plan on using inside my home.
4th. I want to buy two wide angle out door color cameras at a latter date.

Producted was received on time. I was very impressed with the quality of the packaging of the product from Night Owl.This tells me Night Owl has a "Quality Control Dept" and most likely this Quality is carried through the company as well.

Reading the owners manual and quick set up sheet was streight forward,easy to read and to understand ( I'm not very good at electronic stuff).

The quality of the cameras mounts are okay, could be made of a better quality material but it works.

The cameras are okay durning the day. I find the night vision fair ( the cameras can be adjusted for color and contrast, I just have'nt found that happy medium yet)depending upon the night lighting around my house. I have a street light which seems to interfear with the one camera. the other 3 in near dark area are okay.

The DVR on screen is really user friendly as is the manual, very easy to use.

I have not yet set the e-mail or net work monitoring as yet, I need some more free time to do this so I cant rate this area as yet.

Next month I will buy two wide angle color cameras (sony most likely)to replace two of the cameras I have mounted. The reason for this is, the camera supplied are narrow at 1/4 field of view which are great down the long narrow sides of my house. I need the wide angle cameras for the front and rear of the house for a more over all coverage.

I will then have two cameras I can use else where later own.

Over all I'm very pleased with the low cost home security system by Night Owl.
