I am new to high end IEM's and have to say that I'm glad I took the leap. I spend a lot of time listening to music and am revisiting my library using the 4R's. The difference in quality compared to my Klipsh S4i's is really quite amazing. Of course the price difference is as amazing and I'm not even sure if its right to compare the two. Unfortunately for the readers of this review, it's all I have to compare them to.

Although the S4i's surely hit more of the bass range, the 4R's have much more clarity in the other ranges and obviously are producing sound quality that is unadulterated, clear and with all instruments and vocals very audible with the stereo separation much more defined. If you're looking for mind blowing lows, these buds may not be for you. If you are more interested in hearing the music as it was meant to be listened to, I'd would give these buds a huge thumbs up.

I listen to a lot of bass driven music (Downtempo, Chill, Future Jazz) and do miss the lows that the S4i's offer, but the payoff to have such clarity makes me realize that I made a good choice, with the overall sound being of a much higher quality.

Construction of the earbuds is very sturdy with heavy wound cords. The cord offers no volume adjustment or mic for talking. I am assuming this was very intentional to avoid adding any outside interference that may take away from sound quality. These come with quite a few options for rubber tip and foam earpieces for a custom fit depending on your ear and preferences. I have found the foam tips to be the best fitting and most comfortable. These foam tips are made of foam earplug material, you squeeze them down very small, put the buds in your ear and then the foam expands. This creates a very good seal, making these buds as good or better at noise canceling as the advertised S4i's. Even with the volume on the lowest setting of my iPhone, you can't really hear any outside noise. Replacement foam tips are easily replaceable and easy to find on the net if/when you need to purchase more.

This package includes the FiiO E6 amplifier. I'm not going to put much time into reviewing this product due to the fact I have only used it a couple of times. I will say this, it does have three equalizer setting on it that will give the 4R's more bass if you want it, but it will degrade the sound quality somewhat.

If you have the money and looking for excellent sound quality and fit, I'd definitely recommend these IEM's
