I went to a local high end audio store that had a number of headphones for comparison and after listening to most of them I tried the PS1000. The quality immediately jumped out within 2-3 seconds of listening. I've owned a number of headphones over the years and these are light years ahead of anything I've owned or heard. The only headphones I've heard that come close are the Sennheiser HD800 headphones but I give the nod to the Grados in its ability to portray the individual instruments within the recording. I own a high end audio system and the Grados driven by a Burson headphone amp puts out sounds that are comparable to my home system. They are expensive but if music matters to you and you can swing the entry fee the Grado 1000's are world class and very highly recommended.
