This is a wonderful time to purchase electronics, if one still has a viable job, that is. If so, then because of the economy and surpluses from retailers, one should get the most for their dollar. That being said, my choice for a 32 inch model in the $500.00-$900.00 range was the Sharp Aquos, hands down. I will not divulge price, but let's just say we were on the lower end of the price range without much haggling at a big box electronics store.

This picture is fantastic.! I say that owning 5 other sets, from JVC, to Sharp, and including a very nice Zenith, an LG as well, all high def and at least 27-50 inch screens, I am one of those folks who DO see a difference. The Sharp being brand new was not a fair comparison, but against several other name brands, in the store with the exact same inputs and source material the Sharp still was the overall best in class. The controls are easy to learn, the menus straight forward and clear, and the adjustments make real changes in what is viewed on the screen.

This model was introduced in August 2010, and already there is a newer model, that is how electronics are, changes every 6 months. I intend to own this set for years, as the reason for me was the 1080p resolution and the ability to connect my pc. Some complain about the lack of some of the interactive internet features, but for me, when I am on the pc, I am on the pc and not the tv and vice-versa. The size (32 in.) works for me, and the black finish is of the highest quality and does not detract from the set. Viewing is great from virtually any angle and the sound is good and functional from a speaker point of view, most folks will use a theatre system anyway. Once you are in this range, there are subtle differences in the sets from major manufacturers and it becomes a matter of personal preferences, be it Sharp, Samsung, LG, or whatever. I chose Sharp and I am happy with my choice.
