Libratone Zipp Funky WiFi Wireless Speaker - 3 Changeable Color Panels Review

Excellent built quality and the wool covers feel great. This speaker has a nice warm sound, with very good bass for its size. It's plenty loud to fill a room, but I haven't used it outside yet. It also really does seem omnidirectional. You can slowly rotate the speaker (or you could walk 360 degree around it) and the sound pretty much stays the same. One star off for the iPhone app you can (but don't HAVE to) use with it. It's clunky and doesn't really provide much added functionality. It has some DSP pre-sets but they don't really improve the sound over the 'natural' default preset. Overall though I'm very happy with this speaker!

Lowrance Elite 5 Base Fishfinder/Chartplotter Review

Lowrance 000-00104-001 Elite 5 Base Us Fishfinder/chartplotter

We bought this unit in June 2012 to replace our X85 by Lowrance that stopped working after MANY years of use. The Lowrance Elite 5 Fishfinder/Chartplotter was OK, but nothing like the X85, for finding the fish and bottom, but only after alot of fine tuning. Now two months after the 1 year warranty has expired the unit took a crap, and will not find the bottom, fish, brush, etc. So we called Lowrance and were told that we could send it to them and they would check it out. If they test it and it fails they will send us a new unit for only $349 plus shipping and no choice if we just want them to send the bad unit back, we have to get a new one. If they check it and it doesn't fail we pay $49 plus a "Bench" fee, plus shipping, and get the unit, that does not work, back.
And, if you have read the box, it says you get a "5 Year Lowrance Advantage Service" .... What a JOKE!!! It is nothing more than tech support and if you decide you want to upgrade your unit, it won't cost you but $400+ to get the upgrade. Hummmmm .... why not tell the customer, when your warranty is out, you are screwed, and it's time to buy a new one.
I had a problem with the amplifier in my X85, sent it in, they fixed it and it cost me $85. When I asked them couldn't they just fix the Elite 5 I have now, the reply I got was "We don't fix them and send them back anymore, we replace them".
Well I for one will not have the Elite 5 replaced, we will be purchasing a new one that is made by someone other the Lowrance, because we have now purchased our last one from them, because paying $400+ every year is a bunch of BS!!

Pyle Home PNGTT1B Classic Horn Phonograph/Turntable with USB-To-PC Connection and Aux-In (Black) Review

Like others, I bought this because of it's unique look. The 'cone' depicted is cheap plastic and comes in three pieces - it must be 'snapped' together. The product I received had defects in the plastic and would not hold together. It is also strictly decorative - the speakers are in the front of the unit.

Bushnell Elite Tactical Mil-Dot SFP Reticle ERS Riflescope, 4.5-30x50mm Review

To be fair, this is my first truly long range optic, most of my "scopes" have been CQB up until now (typically 1-4, 1.5-6, etc). But I decided my safe was missing a "sniper" rifle so I bought a new Savage Precision Carbine in .308 and none of my existing optics were going to fill the bill. I was worried that acquiring a sight picture was going to take more effort and time than my CQB stuff does but I needn't have worried, this is bright and quick to bring on point. And sighting it in was cake, this scope has ample windage and elevation adjustments that your mount would need to be seriously out of alignment for this scope not to have a suffecient adjustment range. I was convinced I would have to spend almost double to find one I felt would be fair to the rifle and cartridge but I'm pleasantly surprised!

Haier LE46B1381 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV Review

Bought this item 1 week ago. Everything seemed fine until I noticed a small red dot on the screen. According to the led Tv expert its a stuck pixel it might go away or it might not. Nevertheless its a decent well priced led; I still haven't decided if I will exchange this item and hope to get a perfect one. Haier makes good led Tv but lacks quality control on their products.

Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Medium Telephoto Macro Lens for Canon SLR Cameras

You can purchase Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Medium Telephoto Macro Lens for Canon SLR Cameras with secure price and compare to view update price on this product. Price: $589.99

Product Feature

• Compact and lightweight medium telephoto macro lens.
• Optimized image quality for Digital SLR cameras.
• Maximum magnification of 1:1
• Focus Limiter Switch that limits the AF range so improving the speed and accuracy of auto focus
• Dual Focus (DF) system that is designed to make the lens easy to hold during auto focusing

Product Description

The Sigma 257-306 105mm F2.8 EX DG Macro lens for Canon SLR mount is very suitable for taking pictures in nature, while it uses natural light conditions or flash. The greater working distance of this lens is very advantageous when taking the picture of a flower among the branches or an insect. The narrow angle of view is a great aid for simplifying backgrounds and shallow depth of field makes it easier to handle the composition. This lens would have an equivalent field of view of a 178mm telephoto macro lens on a digital SLR camera. This new medium telephoto macro lens employs a new design concept for digital SLR cameras. Its power layout produces an excellent optical performance and also reduces flare and ghost. This lens is designed to reduce the influence of harmful light caused by reflections from the digital image sensor. A screw-in hood is included, for convenient use of circular polarizing filters. It is possible to attach a 77mm filter in front of the lens hood. This lens also incorporates a Dual Focus (DF) system that is designed to make the lens easy to hold during auto focusing. The large focus ring offers smooth and positive action whilst focusing manually. Weight - 16.1 ounces (457 grams)

Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Medium Telephoto Macro Lens for Canon SLR Cameras Review

When I first started looking for a mid-level macro lens, a few weeks ago, I was naturally drawn first to the Canon 60mm, as I have already have 2 Canon bodies.

But then I started looking around, reading reviews (mostly on Fred Miranda's site), and comparing prices. The more research I did, the more appealing this lens became. And finally, I decided to go with it.

Here's why:

- The price is similar to the Canon 60mm.

- I already own a Sigma EX-series lens (17-35mm), and really like it. I like the matte finish, and the glass is excellent.

- For some reason I cannot fathom, Canon doesn't include lens hoods with any of the mid-range lenses I looked at. Sigma does.

- The greater focal length means I can stay farther from the subject - minimum focus distance is about 30cm (12in). This is almost always a benefit.

This lens isn't perfect, however, and here's a few caveats you may want to consider before making a purchase:

- In low light (ie, most macro photography), this lens likes to hunt. Which can be a slow process considering its length when fully extended. Personally, I don't mind manual focus all that much, so this doesn't bother me.

- This is a not an HSM (Sigma's version of USM) lens. It is motor-driven. This might bother you, but I barely even notice it.

- Switching to/from manual/autofocus mode is a 2 step process. Beside the switch on the side of the barrel, the focus ring requires a push-pull motion which is sometimes a bit tricky. With a little practice, this becomes less and less of an issue - and if you leave it on manual most of the time (as I do), you seldom have to worry about it.

- The lens hood is a screw-in, not a twist- or clip-on model. This is, however, offset by the rather deep recession of the glass in the lens tube. (If you want to use the lens hood and leave it on, a 77mm lens cap will fit it.)

Despite these (in my opinion, very minor) problems, I'm very happy with this lens, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a mid-level macro lens
